Matt Scherr is the Executive Director and comes to Ute Springs Experiential Learning Center with extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, an affinity for collaboration, and a strong sense of community. Matt’s professional past is “lively” having dabbled in the telecom, sustainability, leadership, political, sales, and entrepreneurial sandboxes. In every one of those worlds he has found the need for the person-centered development Ute Springs introduces to kids. He is thrilled to be a part of that mission. Stephanie Braga is the Administrative Director at Ute Springs. She moved to the Vail Valley after graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in Journalism. With a strong desire to help people, Stephanie spent years in the service industry and public safety. She is excited to bring her variety of experience and education together to serve Ute Springs and our families. Rachel Solomon is Ute Springs Program Director. She joins us from America’s high five, the mitten, the great lake state, the one the only Michigan! After graduating with a B.S. in Environmental Studies and Applications from Michigan State University she moved out west. Working for various environmental schools in and out of Colorado, she joined Ute Springs ELC in the Fall of 2015 and is thrilled at the opportunity and adventure. Nash Goldman grew up in Lakewood, CO and has traveled the globe to receive his higher education with an emphasis in spreading kindness across cultures. He looks forward to imparting this knowledge with the kids, as well as helping to build connections between horse and human friends. When he isn’t with Ute Springs you will find him camping, eating, fishing or snowboarding.
Sean Kohler is Ute Springs first Colorado Mountain College Fellow, Sean Kohler. As a CMC fellow, Sean will work with Ute Springs for two years, applying learned principles of education in a real-world setting. Sean is very excited to work with our team and kids as he believes it to be the perfect opportunity to combine his love of the outdoors and teaching. Teaching real life skills and receiving real life experience is a dream come true for Sean.
Paulina Montes grew in Gypsum and will be attending Mesa this fall to study medicine. Paulina is looking forward to learning new things that she hasn’t experienced yet and sharing those skills with our campers! When she’s not preparing for Ute Springs Summer Camp you can find her mountain biking, snowboarding, and rafting.
Kelsie Peachey may look familiar to you as she is a 2nd grade teacher at Homestake Peak School. She grew up in Castle Rock, CO and received her Elementary Education degree from Regis University in Denver. Kelsie is looking forward to building relationships and trying new activities outdoors with Ute Springs kids. Be sure to ask her about her love of hiking, skiing, swimming, and teaching!
Adam Tobin comes Ute Springs way via Boston, sharing the joy he finds in conversation, food, and music. Like the team he is now part of, he loves to work with kids because they are inspirational, imaginative, and they always tell you the truth!
